BenchMark Finance offers plain vanilla, European style options, traded online. Options are traded Over-the-Counter (OTC) for periods from one day to one year. Options with expiry dates of less than one week and more than six months are tradable after manually requesting a quote which can be done directly from the Option Trading module of the BenchMark Trader platform.
Margin requirement
The margin requirement is maintenance of 1% (2% for options on gold and silver) of the total amount of the trade. Margin requirements are subject to a correction by a volatility factor, which may increase the required margin and grows as the expiry date moves away from the present date. When trading currency forward outrights, the margin requirement is 1%, the same as in spot FX trade.
Forex options board
In September 2009, BenchMark Finance introduced a professional options trading module - Forex Options Board. The module has been designed by Saxo Bank's team of experts and allows access to the most liquid option strikes and expiry dates in a single screen.
